NASCAR program in Nashville: How to watch, odds, favorites first appeared on NBC Sports Boston

After the first and only off-weekend of the 2022 season, NASCAR is preparing for the last 20 races of the year.

To start the final straight, the Cup Series will visit the Nashville Superspeedway for a 300 lap battle. Kyle Larson will try to defend his crown after winning his first match at Music City last June.

Nashville entry list

Thirty-six drivers are on the Nashville entry list. Up to 40 cars can qualify for a race, so all 36 participants will race on Sunday. Here is the complete list:

When is the NASCAR Nashville Race?

This racing weekend includes training and qualifying before Sunday’s race.

The training for all 36 drivers will take place on Friday at 6:30 p.m. ET. For the qualifiers on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. ET, the riders will be divided into two groups and each driver will make only one lap. The five fastest riders in each group advance to the final lap, where the 10 finalists will run another lap to determine the pole winner.

The Ally 400 starts at 5 p.m. ET on Sunday 26 June.

How to watch NASCAR this weekend

Nashville marks the start of NBC television coverage for this season, with NBC and USA Network broadcasting the last 20 games of the NASCAR 2022 season.

Coverage of training and qualifiers on Friday and Saturday, respectively, will be on the US Network. Sunday coverage will begin at 4 p.m. ET with Countdown to Green at Peacock. The race will start at 5 p.m. ET and will be broadcast by NBC and Peacock.

Coverage before, during and after Sunday’s race may be was broadcast online here and the NBC Sports app.

NASCAR rating enters Nashville

Nashville is the 17th of the 26 regular season games as the post-season approaches. Only 16 drivers advance to the playoffs and the drivers secure a place by winning a race or scoring the most points among the non-winners. Which active drivers won in Nashville?

Sunday will be just the second Nashville Cup Matchso there was only one previous winner: Larson last year.

Kyle Busch, Brad Keselowski, Harvick and Logano have won all Xfinity Series races in Nashville, as NASCAR’s second tier series has run 22 previous races on the track.

It’s hard to miss Nashville because 2021 was the starting race in the 1.33 mile oval.

Larson dominated last year, leading to 264 of the 300 races on the road to victory. Chastain, Byron, Almirola and Harvick finished in the top five. Eliot led the second most laps (13), but finished 38th after his finish was ruled out because he had loose nuts.
