While the details of the film’s plot are still being kept under wraps, the case reportedly involves two weddings held at the same venue on the same weekend.

Sources say Amazon acquired the rights to the project in a highly competitive situation with offers coming from both streamers and studios, which makes sense given the stellar comedy resumes of Witherspoon, Ferrell and Stoller. Notably, Hello Sunshine also has a number of high-profile projects in the works at Amazon, including the musical drama series “Daisy Jones & The Six,” starring Riley Keough and Sam Claflin, and the holiday romantic comedy “Something From Tiffany’s ,” starring and executive produced by Zoey Deutch. After starring in the hit dramas ‘Big Little Lies’, ‘Little Fires Everywhere’ and ‘The Morning Show’, Witherspoon is set to return to her ‘rom-com roots’ with the upcoming ‘Your Place or Mine’ on Netflix.

Gloria Sanchez’s recent hits include “Eurovision,” in which Ferrell starred alongside Rachel McAdams, “Barb & Star Go to Vista Del Mar,” “Hustlers” and “Booksmart.” The company also has two multi-year first-run deals: one in television with Netflix, which came on the heels of the Emmy-nominated series “Dead to Me,” which will soon debut its third and final season; and a film deal at 20th Century Studios. Ferrell will next appear in the Christmas musical “Spirited,” opposite Ryan Reynolds, which the company also produced for Apple TV+.

In addition to the “Bros” buzz, Stoller has also directed critical and commercial hits such as “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” and the “Neighbors” films, with recent writing credits on “Zoolander 2,” “The Muppets” and the sequel of ” Muppets Most Wanted” and “Dora and the Lost City of Gold.” Stoller is currently in production on the Apple TV+ series “Platonic,” which he created with his wife, Francesca Delbanco, and where he reunites with “Neighbors” stars Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne Most recently, Stoller’s company Global Solutions renewed an overall deal with Sony Pictures Television.

Ferrell is repped by UTA, Mosaic and The Lede Company. Witherspoon is repped by CAA, LBI Entertainment, attorney Gretchen Rush and The Lede Company. and Stoller is repped by UTA, Ziffren Brittenham and Narrative.
